Delete your account

You can delete your Valor account, and the personal data linked to it, from inside the Valor app. Valor is published on Google Play as Valor - Military Discounts by Valor Engineering, and on the App Store by Valor US inc.

• Open the Valor app and sign in.
• Go to your Profile, then Settings.
• Choose Delete account.
• Confirm. Your account is closed straight away and you are signed out on every device.

Deletion is permanent and a deleted account cannot be reopened, so withdraw any cashback balance before you delete.

If you no longer have the app, or you cannot sign in, email support@joinvalor.com with the subject line “PRIVACY REQUEST” and ask us to delete your account. Write from the email address on your account, or include the phone number on it. We may ask you to confirm one of them before we act, so that nobody else can delete your account for you.

We process deletion requests promptly and confirm by email once your account is closed.

When your account is deleted, whether from the app or by email:

• Your linked cards. Every card and bank connection is unlinked and removed from Plaid, so Valor stops receiving transaction data from your bank.
• Your sign-in. Your session is revoked on every device and the account is closed. It cannot be signed in to or reopened. The phone number is released from it, so you can sign up again as a new member if you ever want to.
• Your activity in the app. Offers, referral links and promotions tied to your account stop, and your profile is no longer shown to you or used to personalise anything.

Some records have to stay after an account is closed, as the Privacy Policy explains under Exercising Your Rights Regarding Personal Data:

• Transaction and cashback records. The record of the purchases that earned cashback, and of the cashback paid out, is kept for as long as accounting, tax and fraud-prevention obligations require.
• The closed account record. A record that the account existed and was deleted is kept, so that the deletion itself can be honoured and any later dispute resolved.

Nothing kept after deletion is used to contact you or to show you offers. Your rights over this data are described in full in the Privacy Policy (https://joinvalor.com/privacy-policy).
